Dog Law was adopted by Town Board unanimously 12/15/2008

Comments from public on Law: The amended law limiting 2 dogs per household in the Town is totally archaic!!!! We are a suburban/rural community except for the village proper and it seems we are being backward once again.  What is behind this law which seems ridiculous compared to other towns such as Lancaster which is considered more populated.  Copy and paste the Lancaster policy if you like, but I know it won't change anything in this backward community.
http://www.erie.gov/lancaster/offices_dog_control.asp The Alden Town Supervisor lives in the village, he can have three dogs if he likes.

Village Law 66-16 Limit on number of Dogs and Cats

No more than three (3) cats or three (3) dogs or any combination of cats or dogs exceeding three (3), over age of six (6) months, shall be kept, maintained or harbored in any residential housing unit or on its grounds.

New Information, the Town of Alden already has the law to restrict dogs to two. Local Law #1 1995 CurrentDogLaw

Town officials want to spend our dollars to make a duplicate law.
